New Orleans: ICE Pile Drivers Help Rebuild Canals

Nearly four years after Hurricane Katrina, the rebuilding of New Orleans canals and levees are about 50% complete. The Army Corps of Engineers is faced with the daunting task of managing an unprecedented scope of work to repair the damage caused by Katrina. In fact this represents the largest design build project in the Corps history. This effort has been aptly named Task Force Hope, when it is finished it will have taken 6 years and the repair/replacement of 220 miles of levees and floodwalls, new flood gates and pump stations at the mouths of 3 outfall canals, and strengthening of existing walls and levees.
International Construction Company (I.C.E.) is an important part of this rebuilding effort and is proud to be at the forefront of Task Force Hope.
