I Love Attending College Sports

I Love College Sports

OK, I’ll admit that I’m a sucker for just about any college sport. I like watching on TV but I LOVE attending the games in person. I even enjoy watching golf when there is absolutely nothing else on TV but this time of year I can attend a college game on just about every Saturday. I’m lucky in that I live within driving distance of 6 teams in the Big 12 Conference.

I guess the reason I like to see college football is because the players are playing for pride and giving it their all for no money. At least MOST of them are playing for no money but the occassional booster still gets caught and gets the school and the players suspended.

Watching at home on TV is nothing to compare to actually going to a real game. I have the big screen, HD TV with surround and it’s great but is doesn’t compare to actually being at the game. Today for example, the Texas vs. Oklahoma State game was played at the Cotton Bowl. Great game and an upset to boot. #5 Texas beast #1 Oklahoma State. Great Game and I was there to witness it.

Every year the game is played at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas during the State Fair of Texas. So when I go to the game I get the game and the state fair for the same price.

I also go to some games in Austin and Lubbock and Waco. When I travel on business I try to stay over so I can attend a local college game on Saturdays. If you have a son or daughter attending the schools, then it’s much easier to get tickets but that’s not the case for me. I have to find them online and try to wrangle the best deal I can.

There are tons of websites that cater to ticket buyers like me but I tend to return the one I have found that specializes in College Tickets. As a college game junkie I like to attend all types of college sports and that same website is contually updated no matter what sport season it is. Simple and easy to navigate, I love it. The college basketball playoffs come through the area and I use the same site for college basketball tickets too. I follow the Big 12 College Conference most closely and I buy my Big 12 College Conference tickets there too.

No matter which college conference you are interested in, that’s the best place to find tickets. Yeah, you hear about sell outs but there has never been a game that I wanted to attend that I couldn’t get tickets for. Plus it shows multiple sellers on the same screen to make the buying very easy and you can actually see the stadium and where the tickets are located. Don’t want end zone? No problem. Want something on the 50 yard line? No problem. Want some courtside tickets during the Sweet 16? No problem.

Changing the subject but still related to college sports….. At the last game I attended the guy sitting next to me had a beer belly and I’m not talking about a real beer belly but a fake one. You gotta click on that link. American ingenuity strikes again. He had smuggled it into the stadium and according to him he uses it at just about every game he attends. He said it keeps him out of the concession lines lines and he never pays $6 for a beer any longer. Pretty funny but it’s a pretty darn clever invention too. I’m not advocating smuggling these into any game but should you be so inclined, it would probably save you a lot of money and you certainly wouldn’t miss any of the game waiting in the concession line either.

I hope your teams wins as long as they aren’t playing my team.
